Professional Teeth Whitening in Southbridge, MA

Whitening strips and toothpastes that you find at the store can work well, but they typically will not give you a long-lasting, even shade of white that you are completely satisfied with. If you are interested in learning more about how professional teeth whitening can help you achieve your smile goals, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our front office team to schedule a consultation. We love helping patients feel more confident about the appearance of their smiles!

Which teeth whitening option should I choose?

Southbridge Dental Care offers two excellent choices for professional teeth whitening. The option that you pick will ultimately depend on your specific wants and needs.

  • Custom Take-Home Whitening Kits allow patients to whiten their smiles whenever it is convenient for them. We use dental impressions to create custom trays that come with professional-grade whitening gel, so you can achieve the white smile you want from the comfort of your own home.
  • One-Visit In-Office Teeth Whitening whitens the teeth very quickly and efficiently. If you have a big event that’s just around the corner, our team of dental professionals can help you achieve the exact shade of white you would like your smile to be in one convenient appointment.

Does professional teeth whitening cause sensitivity?

If you know that you have very sensitive teeth, let our team know, and we can discuss your options with you at your consultation. The hydrogen peroxide in teeth whitening is what usually increases tooth sensitivity, but your teeth should feel totally normal again after a few days. We recommend avoiding foods and drinks that are very cold and very hot after teeth whitening treatments, as that can trigger tooth sensitivity, as can very sweet desserts. You may also want to try using a desensitizing toothpaste before and after your treatments.

How long does professional teeth whitening last?

The effects of professional teeth whitening tend to last longer than drugstore whitening products. You may start to notice your teeth looking less white after one to two years, but they will likely still look whiter than they did before treatment. Regularly consuming coffee, tea, red wine, and sodas tend to stain the teeth and make them look less white. If your teeth are no longer as white as you’d like them to be, just let us know, and we can schedule another in-office teeth whitening treatment or provide more whitening gel for your custom trays.
